MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Eyewitnesses told the Manchester Evening News daily there was heavy police presence at Ibis Hotel in Salford Quays. Around 15 police cars and an ambulance lined the sidewalk.
The Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that an operation was underway in response to the death of a minor.
"Police responding to collision involving young boy near Ibis hotel in Salford. Boy has sadly died at the scene. Enquiries on-going," the police tweeted.
The Evening Newspaper reported previously that the raid was linked to a road accident in which a child had been run over by a car.
