DVORIKI (Sputnik) – According to Lavrov, Brussels' policy toward Moscow is guided by a "Russophobic minority," which tries to abuse the principles of EU consensus.
"The Russophobic minority in the European Union tries to abuse the principles of consensus, solidarity anchored in the European Union, and demands that the positions of all other members are based on the lowest common denominator. And this lowest common denominator is undoubtedly anti-Russian … I hope that serious EU states, which clearly understand the inadmissibility and non-acceptance of the continuation of such a course, will seek turning the consensus into the agreement respecting all points of view," Lavrov said at a forum in the Vladimir region.
Russia has many times refuted such allegations and introduced a food embargo against the countries that imposed restrictions on Moscow.
Several European countries have repeatedly expressed discontent over anti-Russian sanctions which have severely affected their economies, however, the bloc continued to prolong its restrictions on Moscow.
