MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The commissioner added that these were official requests, but the actual number of such cases could easily be two or three times higher.
"As for requests to the commissioner, as of now, 213 people [have reached out], with names, last names, parents, children, dates of birth, when they left," Ezhova told RT broadcaster.
According to Ezhova, many concerned relatives did not go to the authorities for fear of being accused of collaborating with terrorists.
Earlier this month, RT visited children from Russia and neighboring countries that are currently in an orphanage in Baghdad. The broadcaster's Editor-In-Chief Margarita Simonyan urged her social network followers to share the video to help find the children's relatives.
