The aviation technologies such as planes and helicopters for the Russian Aerospace Forces will be unmanned in the future, Aerospace Forces Commander Col. Gen. Viktor Bondarev said Saturday.

KUBINKA (Sputnik) — The commander added that the Aerospace Forces had achieved excellent results in combat training as the annual flight time of each pilot amounted to no less than 120 hours and that figure would increase.

"We will never fall behind anyone. We have no doubts that planes and helicopters will be unmanned. This will be qualitatively new aviation equipment, because the technologies are developing and all this is being actively implemented in the Aerospace Forces," Bondarev told reporters.

Russia's Su-57 fifth-generation fighter jets, formerly known as Prospective Airborne Complex of Frontline Aviation (PAK FA), or Sukhoi T-50, is "on equal footing" with foreign analogs, Bondarev noted, adding that Russia manufactures "the world's best" helicopters.

The United Aircraft Corporation’s CEO, Yuri Slyusarev, earlier said that the initial batch of 12 such planes will be supplied to the Aerospace Forces in 2019.
