MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian high jumper Maria Lasitskene won gold on Saturday at the 2017 World Athletics Championships in London.

Lasitskene's best attempt in the finals marked 2.03 meters, while Ukrainian athlete Yuliya Levchenko won silver with the result of 2.01 meters and Kamila Licwinko from Poland took bronze with a jump of 1.99.

This has become the second victory of Lasitskene at world championships as she also won the gold medal at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing.
