US Police Arrest 3 Individuals Over Far-Right Rally in Charlottesville
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Saturday, Charlottesville saw a major rally of far-right nationalists dubbed "Unite the Right" which subsequently led to the unrest. According to the local authorities, three people have been killed in the city. In response to the clashes, Governor of the US state of Virginia Terry McAuliffe declared a state of emergency in Charlottesville.

"In relation to the state of emergency declared by the authorities in Charlottesville, Virginia, we recommend the Russian citizens to refrain from trips to this city until the complete normalization of the situation and the halt of the state of emergency," the embassy said in a statement.

The far-right demonstration in Charlottesville was held in protest against the removal of a statue honoring Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee from the city's central park.

The rally has been strongly condemned both by McAuliffe and the local authorities, as well as the US president Donald Trump.
