TOKYO (Sputnik) — On Monday, Dunford will reportedly meet with South Korean President Moon Jae-in to discuss North Korea's nuclear activities and issues related to the South Korea-US alliance. The talks are expected to be attended by the presidential security adviser Chung Eui-yong and South Korea's new JCS Chairman Lee Sun-jin.
"In the afternoon, Chairman Dunford arrived by plane at the Osan military base in the Gyeonggi province," the source said as quoted by Yonhap news agency.
After his South Korea visit, Dunford is expected to travel to China and Japan as part of his Northeast Asia tour.
North Korea’s military said Wednesday it was considering a missile attack near the US island territory of Guam after President Donald Trump threatened Pyongyang with "fire and fury."
