Trump Condemns KKK, Neo-Nazis, White Supremacists as 'Criminals and Thugs'
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Trump's approval rating dropped to 34 percent, while his disapproval rating jumped five percentage points to 61 percent, according to Gallup's daily poll.

The US president's declining approval rating comes in the wake of violent clashes over the weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia. Violence erupted on Saturday at a white supremacist protest, and at least one woman was killed after a Nazi supporter drove his car into a crowd of counter-protesters.

The "Unite the Right" rally was organized by far-right nationalists angered by authorities' plans to remove a monument to Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee from a city park. Far-left groups like AntiFa engaged the white supremacists and other far right groups as police were ordered to stand down, leading to physical confrontations, according to media reports.

Trump has faced mounting criticism since the deadly protest for his failure to swiftly condemn the white supremacist groups that took part in the demonstration.

The president on Monday condemned the egregious display of hatred and bigotry at the protest, vowing to bring those responsible for the violence to justice.
