During a Q&A session at the Sarajevo Film Festival, acclaimed American film director Oliver Stone said that US media outlets like The Washington Post, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal have become "extremist in their anti-Russian fervor," according to the Variety magazine.
"What I’m seeing today — and I’ve read these papers for years — is as bad as I’ve ever seen it… When the Ukrainian situation happened, I didn’t see any reports from the other side of the war. Within hours the United States recognized the coup d’état. And the reporting from the beginning was very anti-Russian," Stone said.
The filmmaker also remarked that US President Donald Trump "can’t do anything about where we’re going."
"Right now he’s beating the war drum because that’s more popular, and unfortunately it’s dangerous, not only for Venezuela and North Korea, but also for the world because one thing leads to the other. It could be a disaster."
The legendary filmmaker Oliver Stone attended the Sarajevo Film Festival where he presented his latest work, "The Putin Interviews." During the event, the movie director was presented with the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo Award for his "exceptional contribution to film art."
