Belgium Follows Situation in Barcelona, Security Measures Unchanged
19:49 GMT 17.08.2017 (Updated: 20:45 GMT 19.10.2022) Belgium follows the situation in Barcelona which has been hit by a deadly ramming attack, but security measures have not been changed in the country so far, spokesman for the Belgian Interior Ministry's crisis center, told Sputnik on Thursday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, a van hit pedestrians in Barcelona’s central Ramblas area. Catalonia’s authorities confirmed that 13 people were killed and over 50 were injured in the incident, which was identified as a terrorist attack.
"We follow the situation and collect more information… The threat level and the security measures did not change in Belgium until now," Benoit Ramacker said.
