21:32 GMT 17.08.2017 (Updated: 21:36 GMT 17.08.2017) A man who was shot dead by police after driving a car into a police checkpoint in Spain’s Barcelona was not connected to Thursday’s van attack in the inner city that killed 13 people, the Catalan police chief told reporters.
MADRID (Sputnik) — "This man is dead, he was a Spaniard, his connection to terrorists has not been confirmed," Josep Lluis Trapero said at a press conference.
