MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The UK police have sent the officers to the country's airports in order to obtain any information about the attacks in Barcelona from people arriving from Spain, UK Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley said in a statement on Friday.
Rowley urged the people to send images or footage related to the incident to the UK police in order to assist the investigation. He also extended his condolences to the people affected by the attacks.
"Our thoughts are with Spain, the victims, their families and all the other people affected by yesterday's barbaric attack in Barcelona," Rowley was quoted as saying by the statement.
Hours after the incident, another vehicle attack took place in the coastal town of Cambrils, south of Barcelona. Six civilians and a police officer were injured, with some of them in critical condition. Later in the day, a woman injured in the Cambrils attack succumbed to her wounds.
