WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The NYSDEC denied a permit to Constitution Pipeline on April 16 for failing to address the project’s impact on water resources and whether it would comply with the Clean Water Act.
"The US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit upheld the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC)’s decision to block a 124-mile natural gas pipeline project from moving forward in New York State," the release stated on Friday.
The pipeline would have cut through four counties and cross waterways 251 times, the release said.
