WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The US-led coalition against the Daesh (banned in Russia) destroyed the terror group’s media center and a headquarters near Deir ez-Zor, Syria on Thursday, Operation Inherent Resolve said in a press release.
"Near Deir ez-Zor, one strike destroyed an Daesh headquarters and an Daesh media center," the release stated on Friday.
In Iraq, the coalition carried out five strikes near Bayji and Tal Afar. The strikes destroyed Daesh vehicles, a supply cache, a staging area, an Daesh-held building and a mortar system, among other targets.
The US-led coalition of more than 70 members is conducting airstrikes, ground-based and rocket-propelled artillery fire against the Daesh in Syria and Iraq. The strikes in Iraq are conducted in support of the Iraqi government, but those in Syria are not authorized by the UN Security Council or the government of President Bashar Assad.
