STOCKHOLM (Sputnik) — On Friday, two people were killed and eight others were injured in a knife attack at Turku's market square. The key suspect, who was shot by the police during detention, was an 18-year-old citizen of Morocco. The suspect arrived in Turku last year and was trying to obtain asylum in Finland.
The ceremony to commemorate the victims of the attack was aired by the Yle broadcaster.
On Saturday, Finland's National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said the police had arrested five other people over possible links to the attack. According to police, the incident is being investigated as a terror attack.
