The United Nations held one humanitarian mission in the Syrian province of Homs over the past 24 hours, delivering 200 tonnes of humanitarian cargo to the area, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a daily bulletin Sunday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the bulletin, no humanitarian action was held by the Russian Centre for the reconciliation of opposing sides over the past 24 hours.

"The United Nations held 1 humanitarian action: a humanitarian cargo of 200 tons (food products) has been delivered to the city of Tel-Amrah, Homs province," the ministry said.

The ministry added that the Russian military medics had provided medical assistance to 53 people.

Russia has been carrying out regular humanitarian aid deliveries to Syria, where people are suffering from the consequences of the civil war between government forces and terrorists, such as the Daesh terrorist group, banned in Russia and a range of other countries.
