KUBINKA (Moscow Region) (Sputnik) — Russia's Kalashnikov group has developed an electronic non-lethal weapon REX 1 which can shoot down unmanned aerial vehicles, Deputy CEO of Kalashnikov’s Zala Aero Group Konstantin Abashkin said Monday.
"The team has developed a product against unmanned aerial vehicles… It can also jam GSM, Wi-Fi 5.8 GHz, Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz signals. Accordingly, it can be used against improvised explosive devices," Abashkin said at a presentation in Patriot Park.
According to Abashkin, the new product can be used both in the civil sector for the protection of privacy and by law enforcement agencies during public events.
