Riding down the streets of China's Beihai City, an oblivious man trying to get his social media life together was thrown a curveball when he suddenly drove straight into a massive sinkhole Thursday.
Captured on CCTV footage, a scootering driver is seen staring at his phone seconds before taking the final plunge into a recently created sinkhole. A few short minutes later the confused motorist can be seen emerging from the sunken piles of concrete as he — miraculously — managed to climb out of the 6-foot deep, 26-foot long, 16-foot wide pit uninjured.
While authorities have yet to offer an official cause, initial reports speculate the country's recent urbanization efforts is the cause for the August 17 sinkhole as extensive roadwork is causing massive shifts in the soil beneath the asphalt.
Keep your eyes on the road, people!
