Trump's speech was maligned on several sides. His base objected to his announcement of an indefinite conflict until US objectives were met (as he had run on a platform of not involving the US in pointless wars), while establishment Republicans were more positive, but disliked how it took seven months for Trump to announce a key policy that was only marginally different from his predecessors.
Liberals hated the speech too, but you don't need us to tell you that.
