MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to El Pais newspaper, the measures were adopted during a meeting of Barcelona’s Security Board, including the city’s Mayor Ada Colau, Catalan Home Affairs Minister Joaquim Forn Chiariello, delegate of the Spanish government in Catalonia Enric Millo and representatives of security and emergency services.
On Saturday, Spanish authorities decided not to raise the level of terrorist threat to the maximum fifth level.
According to the Mossos d'Esquadra, Catalonia's police force, a 12-person cell was behind the terror attacks. Four suspects have been arrested and five others were killed after the Cambrils attack. Two more attackers allegedly died in an explosion in the Catalan town of Alcanar on Wednesday night, where the terrorists had been preparing explosives. On Monday, police confirmed they had killed Younes Abouyaaquob, the suspected perpetrator of the terrorist attack.
