MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Presidential Adviser Jared Kushner had constructive discussion on advancing peace and security in the Middle East, the Israeli prime minister's office said Thursday.
"They discussed ways to advance peace and security in the region. The talks were constructive and substantive and the Prime Minister looks forward to continuing those discussions in the weeks ahead," the office wrote on Twitter.
Kushner is leading a US delegation's visit to the Middle East to discuss the prospect of resuming the long-stalled Palestinian-Israeli peace process. After the meeting with Netanyahu, the presidential adviser is expected to head to Ramallah, a de-facto administrative capital of the Palestinian National Authority, to hold talks with Palestine's head Mahmoud Abbas.
