MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier this week, the MCC said that the adjustment would be rescheduled from Friday to Sunday in connection with better ballistic conditions.
"According to revised estimates of ballistics experts, the adjustment of the orbit of the ISS will occur on August 27, 2017," the MCC representative said.
The maneuver will begin at 4:55 GMT, using the engines of Progress MS-06 cargo spacecraft docked to the station.
The engines are expected to keep running for 177 seconds bringing the average altitude to 404.2 kilometers, or about 251 miles, an increase of 0.6 kilometers, compared to the present position.
The adjustment will allow to prepare for the successful landing of the Soyuz MS-04 manned spacecraft.
