WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US forces are searching for a missing service member after a military helicopter crashed during Friday drills off Yemeni coast, the US Central Command has said.
"U.S forces in the region are conducting an ongoing search for one U.S. service member who was aboard the aircraft," the military said in a statement.
Five other personnel were rescued from the Black Hawk helicopter, which came down some 20 miles south of the Yemeni shore at around 7 p.m. local time on Friday. An investigation into the accident is pending.
