A Hard Drill Makes an Easy Battle: Russian Servicemen Train Syrian Mine Squad

Syrian combat engineers are being trained by Russian servicemen at a special training center near the Syrian city of Homs.

Some 600 sappers have taken the course since February, when a branch of the Russian Armed Forces' International Mine Action Center was opened in Syria. The center's graduates participated in mine clearance operations in Aleppo and Palmyra and will be heading to Deir Ez-Zor shortly.
