MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Kaspersky Lab survey, the largest share of affected users were in Vietnam (57 percent), while the Netherlands had the smallest number of users suffering from attacks (13 percent). In Russia, 37 percent of users suffered from cyberattacks, which is 2 percent less than in the second half of 2016.
At the same time, a total of 41 percent of the users did not protect their devices in any way, which is 2 percent higher than in the previous six months. The highest number of unprotected devices, according to the report, is in the United Arab Emirates and Singapore (54 percent in the both countries). Only 36 percent of the Russian users were carefree, compared to the most careful users of China (29 percent).
In May, the WannaCry virus blocked computers across the world with messages flashing on the screen demanding money to remove the restriction. The largest number of targets was in Russia, Taiwan and Ukraine. Nearly 200,000 users from 150 countries have been affected according to the report.
