Former German actress Renata Langer accused Roman Polanski of raping her nearly half a century ago.
According to her, the assault took place in 1972 when she was 15, at the Swiss resort town of Gstaad. Polanski had allegedly raped her when she visited his apartments there, and then attacked her a month later in her bedroom during the filming of Polanski’s movie ‘What?’ (Che?)
According to Swiss laws, there’s no statute of limitations for child sex abuse, and Swiss police have begun investigating Langer’s claims.
In 1977 Polanski pleaded guilty to statutory rape of Samantha Geimer when she was 13. However, he fled to France before the sentencing, and Paris rejected the subsequent extradition request filed by the US as Polanski holds French citizenship.
