"My commitment to the success of our president and our country is as strong as it was the day I accepted his offer to serve as Secretary of State," Tillerson stated. "I have never considered leaving this post."
Earlier on Wednesday, NBC News reported Tillerson considered resigning from his position as the top US diplomat back in July, due to disputes over policy and other clashes with the White House. Moreover, media reports also noted that Vice President Mike Pence and other administration officials had to convince Tillerson to stay, a claim that Tillerson directly denied to reporters in his remarks.
