MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Putin will celebrate his 65th birthday on Saturday.
"No, [the phone conversation is] not planned," Peskov told reporters when answering a question on whether a telephone conversation between Putin and Trump had been planned for Saturday.
Peskov added, however, that there was still a number of telephone conversations on Putin's agenda for Saturday.
Russian-US relations reached a new low after Washington accused Moscow of interfering in the November 8 2016 election that saw the victory of Donald Trump and launched a congressional probe into alleged interference. Russia has repeatedly denied the allegations, calling them "absurd" and "invented" to deflect the public's attention away from actual instances of election fraud and corruption as well as other issues.
