MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Spanish police have carried out an international operation and detained a vessel carrying 3.8 tonnes of cocaine, the police said in a tweet Saturday.
"A total of 3.8 tonnes of cocaine have been shipped to Spain on this vessel. Seven members of the crew have been detained," the police said.

The drugs have been stashed in a cabin under the vessel's galley, the police specified.
According to Europa Press news agency, citing the Spanish Interior Ministry, the vessel has been detained in 870 kilometers (540 miles) from the Canary Islands. The ship was coming from Columbia.
