MOSCOW (Sputnik) — UK police arrested on Saturday a woman, who was trying to climb the front gates of the Buckingham Palace, the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.
"At 17:40hrs [16:40 GMT] on Saturday, 7 October officers in the area of Buckingham Palace observed a woman climbing the front gates of the palace. The woman, believed to be in in her 30s was quickly detained by officers before she gained access to the palace grounds," the statement said.
The woman was arrested on a suspicions of trespass and remains now in custody.
"The incident is not being treated as terrorist-related," the statement added.
The Buckingham Palace is the official residence of UK monarchs.
