Press TV reports that a ballistic missile launched from the territory of Yemen hit Saudi Arabia near the Yemeni border.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A Qaher-2 ballistic missile fired from the Yemeni territory hit Saudi Arabia's southwest, media reported on Tuesday.

The missile hit the the Jizan region located near the border between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, the Press TV broadcaster reported. There is no information about any casualties or damage caused by the incident.

Yemen has been in the grip of a brutal civil war since 2015. The war is waged between the internationally recognized government of President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and the Houthi Shia movement backed by army units loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh. In March 2015, the Saudi-led coalition of mostly Persian Gulf countries launched airstrikes against the Houthis at Hadi's request.
