A new stage in the construction of the bridge, which will connect the Crimean Peninsula to mainland Russia, has started on October 11. The 5,500-ton arch with a span of more than 200 meters will be raised to a height of 35 meters above the water and fixed to the bridge. The entire process will take about a month — this unique operation requires extreme accuracy.
In August, a railway arch weighing 6,000 tons was put up.
