Speaking to the Poughkeepsie Journal, Sgt. George Camacho confirmed that at least 10 officers were called to the scene at Poughkeepsie High School at approximately 11:46 a.m.
According to the Journal, a "disturbance" broke out between students which quickly erupted into an exchange of fisticuffs. But here's the kicker: minutes after parents arrived on the scene in Poughkeepsie, New York, they got into their own skirmish.
Nicole Williams, Poughkeepsie's superintendent, later announced that "an external threat" prompted the administrator to put the school under a "shelter-in-place" order until the quarrels were handled.
The lockdown reportedly lasted from 11:50 a.m. until 12:20 p.m.
Camacho later told the Journal that he "didn't have any information" on whether charges would be filed or details on why the fights broke out in the first place.
