A military plane of the Spanish Air Forces has crashed near the Los Llanos airbase in Albacete when it returned from the military parade in Madrid dedicated to the Spanish National Day, the Spanish Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

The Ministry of Defense has confirmed the accident but didn't specify the details.

The pilot of the military plane that crashed in southeastern Spain earlier Thursday has died, the Spanish Defense Ministry said.
“As a consequence of the crash which occurred during the approach maneuver for landing, the pilot of the plane died,” the ministry said in a tweet.
