According to media reports, Iran is ready to back down any action against its armed forces and accused the United States of violating nuclear deal between Tehran and the six major powers.
"Iran will strongly respond to any action against its military forces, including the Revolutionary Guards Corps," Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi was quoted as saying by state TV.
According to some media report that the US president is likely to designate Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organisation.
"The reckless behavior of the Iranian regime, and the IRGC [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] in particular, poses one of the most dangerous threats to the interests of the United States and to regional stability. Iran has taken advantage of regional conflicts and instability to expand its influence and threaten its neighbors with little domestic or international cost for its actions," the press release read.
It is expected that Donald Trump will make a statement on the new Iranian strategy later Friday.
