Don't Tease the Dragon
18:03 GMT 17.10.2017 (Updated: 11:54 GMT 06.08.2022) The United States hopes to put an end to the North Korean crisis with China's hands, Vladimir Terekhov, a political analyst specializing in the Asia-Pacific region, told Sputnik Radio as he commented on the US-South Korean naval drills near the peninsula.
"The final resolution of the Korean problem is not in Washington's interests," he said, adding that the drills serve as a leverage over China: the US needs a reason to remain in the region and oppose Beijing.
