One poster depicts a North Korean soldier with a rifle in one hand stomping Trump to death, with the captions reading "complete obliteration" and "Death to the old lunatic Trump!" Another depicts Trump as a dog with its head being chopped off with an axe, captioned "Let's behead mad dog Trump for the future of a peaceful world!"
Pyongyang have it totally wrong. It's Defense Secretary James Mattis who is known as the "Mad Dog."
Not every poster depicts Trump's death. One shows Trump as a huge dog clutching a missile between its teeth, speaking behind a UN podium to "totally destroy North Korea". Men in suits look on in fear, saying "He's gone completely insane" and "If we let him be, there will be war."
This one isn't actually much of an exaggeration, as Trump did indeed threaten to "totally destroy" the communist half of the Korean peninsula if North Korea attacked the US or its allies. during his speech at the 2017 UN General Assembly.
A fourth and final poster depicts a destroyed, crumbling US capitol building with a shredded American flag draped over it. Cherry red missiles are pointed at the building, with the caption declaring "This is our answer!"
Both Koreas fly propaganda leaflets across their heavily militarized border, attached to low-flying balloons that can slip past radar. Flyers from Pyongyang aggrandizing North Korean military might and threatening the US as well as South Korea are common, but Trump himself has not been featured in the past.
"I am pretty sure it came from North Korea by balloon, since the prevailing winds during October have been from north to south and we've been getting reports of others finding them throughout Seoul," said Chad O'Carroll, the managing director of Seoul-based newspaper NK News that broke the story about the leaflets. O'Carroll says he found some of the posters while jogging.
