Pet owners with smartphones usually have the same trouble — their photo libraries are overflowing with images of their four-legged family members captured in all sorts of places, positions and situations. Thanks to Google Photos app developers, there is now a brilliant solution to this issue.
No more scrolling along the endless gallery in search of that particular picture of your lovely pet! Previously, it was only possible to browse photos in libraries by typing in words like "cat" or "dog." Now, the app users can just label their pets by name, or search by breed and even by animal emojis.
Introduced in 2015, Google Photos was and praised for its computer-vision algorithms able to sort photos to see a specific person. However, the app drew controversy after the technology appeared to misidentify people with dark skin as "apes" and "gorillas."
