WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The State Department has reviewed 32,000 emails of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton while 40,000 records still need to be examined, according to Judicial Watch.
"The State Department has processed 32,000 pages of emails so far, a small number of which have been released, but 40,000 pages remain to be processed," the release stated.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) obtained these email communications in 2016. Some of the records were found on a personal computer of Clinton aide Huma Abedin's estranged husband Anthony Weiner.
During the election campaign, US federal investigators examining the laptop Weiner shared with Abedin discovered emails pertaining to a separate investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state.
The discovery prompted then-FBI Director James Comey to announce he was reopening the FBI’s Clinton probe less than two weeks before the November 8 election.
