US rapper Eminem has been awarded US$412,000 in compensation after the National Party in New Zealand breached copyright of one of his biggest hits, the Oscar-winning "Lose Yourself" in a political election advert. The song, entitled Eminem-esque, bore only minimal differences to the original, according to the court ruling.

Musical copyright remains a minefield, affecting everyone from Madonna, Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran and has led to some famous spats.
