Bjorn Dihle, a former commercial fisherman and author of Haunted Inside Passage, a collection of stories, which explores the supernatural legends and unsolved mysteries of Southeast Alaska, discovered something really extraordinary on a beach some 60 kilometers from Alaska’s capital Juneau while kayaking.
He first thought it was some type of a ray, but then he realized it were the remains of "something huge."
"The organs looked and felt like a decomposing liver, and smelt like a fish hold that hadn't been cleaned in a while — a bit like ammonia," the man told the UK tabloid The Sun.
Some experts who have been called to the site suggested that it may be the liver of a Pacific sleeper shark.

The unknown remains were over one meter long, suggesting that the sleeper shark would have been bigger than any species that Bjorn Dihle had previously dragged from the sea. Besides, it still remains unclear how the liver, which is the safest part to eat, could have become separated from the body while remaining intact.
