The female “ghost cat” cub made her first public debut at the Bronx zoo in, NYC. The snow leopard was born this summer but was shown to the public only now. The cub has not been named yet but it spends her time great playing with mother. The cub is the second generation offspring of Leo the snow leopard.
Snow leopards are called “ghost cats” due to their pale grey fur which allows them hide perfectly among the rocks and snow. Snow leopards are listed in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. They usually prey on ungulates. The first snow leopards appeared in the Bronx Zoo in 1903.
