The basketball team took a chartered Boeing 757-200 to travel from Minneapolis to Chicago on Saturday night, after they lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves. During the flight, the plane apparently encountered some strange object, which left its nose completely cracked.
While they had no idea what might have caused it, the players hurried to share the photos of the damaged aircraft.

New Zealand player Steven Adams wondered what the plane could possibly have encountered over 9,000 meters up in the air, noting that it was "a rough flight, to say the least."
Patrick Patterson, another player, suggested that they "accidentally hit superman."
Commenting on the incident, Delta Airlines, which operated the flight, said that the aircraft "likely encountered a bird while on descent into Chicago."
The players, however, took a more humorous approach to the news: forward Nick Collison remarked that it "must've been a pretty big bird — a Pterodactyl maybe."
Although no one suffered during the incident, many team members nevertheless thanked "higher forces."
"You never take anything for granted, just be thankful and blessed that we were able to land the plane and everything was OK," Russell Westbrook said.

"Seeing stuff like that just shows you how you need to cherish life and understand the important things in life and embrace every moment," he concluded.
