MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he ordered the Department of Homeland Security to tighten the refugee admission program.
"I have just ordered Homeland Security to step up our already Extreme Vetting Program. Being politically correct is fine, but not for this!" Trump wrote on Twitter.

Late on Tuesday, a man drove a truck into a crowd in New York City’s lower Manhattan, killing eight people and injuring 11. The attacker was shot by the police and taken to a hospital.
Earlier, Trump signed an executive order which resumes the US restricted refugee admissions programs. US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that the order "was issued in order to protect Americans by addressing weaknesses in our visa program and refugee vetting system". Also, nationals from 11 countries believed to pose a higher risk to national security were to face even tougher scrutiny.
