The videos were seized from the Abbottabad compound in Pakistan after United States Navy SEALs stormed it and killed bin Laden in May 2011.
One of the videos shows bin Laden’s children and grandchildren, which gives the impression of a pretty normal family despite his status as the most dangerous terrorist on the planet.
The children can be seen frolicking about indoors and playing on swings and a slide in the courtyard.
Another video offers never-before-seen footage of bin Laden’s son Hamza bin Laden as an adult. Previously, only childhood pictures of him have circulated.
The young man, who many believe to be his father’s potential successor, is seen on his wedding day. Hamza is believed to be alive and active in Pakistan.
The videos were included in Wednesday’s release by the CIA of nearly 470,000 files found on Osama’s personal computer.
"In an effort to further enhance public understanding of [al-Qaeda], the Central Intelligence Agency on 1 November 2017 released additional materials recovered in the raid on [Osama bin Laden's] compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan," the agency said in a statement on Wednesday.
Osama bin Laden was the founder of al-Qaeda and the mastermind behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the US in 2001.
On May 2, 2011, a group of Navy SEALS with the US Naval Special Warfare Development Group (commonly referred to as SEAL Team Six) infiltrated bin Laden's hideout. Bin Laden was killed, along with one of his sons and three of his subordinates.
