It was on Tuesday that the White House chose to release the official portraits of US President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. Considering it was also Halloween, netizens decided to toss in some haunting edits.

Let's begin with the official portraits.

It's safe to say they're pretty standard photos. Trump even offers viewers a cheesy smile, according to critics.

Now, onto the edits that tricksters worked on arduously as they popped a few Reese's Pieces into their fuel tanks.

There was the classic comparison to food…

…mixed in with a bit of clowning around…

… and even some bars to boot.

Out of all the mock portraits internet artists designed the one that caught some flack from critics was none other than a comparison to Heath Ledger's troublesome Joker.

The commander-in-chief as the chaos-loving nemesis of Batman just didn't sit right for some.

Trump and Pence's portraits were released a whopping nine months after the two took charge of the White House. By comparison, former President Barack Obama's portrait was revealed roughly a month after his inauguration.
