The revelations came on Friday evening, when Tory chief whip Julian Smith said that he has temporarily barred 46-year-old Charlie Elphicke from office over "serious allegations," which have been handed over to the police.
The party, however, did not disclose what those allegations were nor name who it was that made the complaint.
The party tipped off the press before telling me of my suspension. I am not aware of what the alleged claims are and deny any wrongdoing.

The MP was quick to react: he took to Twitter and denied any wrongdoing, while complaining that his party seemed to have first informed the press before talking to him.
New Labor MP Under Investigation
In a separate revelation, the country's Labor party announced that another of its MPs, Clive Lewis, is now under investigation over the allegations that he groped a woman at the party's annual conference this year.
The party has already suspended 76-year-old MP Kelvin Hopkins and is investigating the lawmaker over his "inappropriate text messages" and sexual misconduct with 27-year-old activist Ava Etemadzadeh, which he "absolutely and categorically" denied.
It has also temporarily removed its MP Jared O’Mara over offensive online comments, which he has since apologized for.

The Conservatives are also probing into sexual allegations over the country's former Defense Secretary Michael Fallon, who was forced to quit after the revelations of his inappropriate behavior with journalist Julia Hartley-Brewer in 2002.
Earlier this week, reports emerged that Conservative party aides have compiled a trove of materials which revealed that at least 36 senior Tories have been involved in cases of sexual misconduct.
