Paul Manafort offered a US court a $12.5 million bail package also pledging to limit his travel to Washington, DC, Florida, New York, and Virginia.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The legal team of Paul Manafort, former US President Donald Trump's campaign manager, who has been on home confinement on charges of money laundering and working as an unregistered foreign agent, offered a US court to post $12.5-million-worth of assets in a bail package to ensure Manafort appears for the trial he is facing.

After Manafort's arraignment on Monday, the political consultant has been released to home confinement on a $10-million personal recognizance bond, meaning that Manafort would pay the sum if he failed to appear in the court.

"Mr. Manafort will pledge the following assets (and meet the additional conditions noted infra) to reasonably assure the Court that he will appear as required: East 5th Avenue, New York, NY (approximate net asset value $3 million); Baxter Street, New York, NY (approximate net asset value $3.5 million); St. James Drive, Palm Beach Gardens, FL (approximate net asset value $1.5 million; and a combination of life insurance policies held in trust and/or in his or his wife’s name (approximate net asset value $4.5 million)," the legal team’s letter to Washington, DC district court, published by Politico news outlet late on Saturday, read.

In the letter, Manafort also pledged to limit his travel to Washington, DC, Florida, New York, and Virginia.

Manafort and his campaign deputy and former business associate Richard Gates, have been indicted for money laundering and working as unregistered foreign agents for the Ukraine government, among other criminal counts. The indictments came as part of US Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 US election.

Both Trump administration, and Moscow, have repeatedly denied the allegations of collusion. Russia has also denied allegations of meddling with the US vote, saying that such actions contradicted the principles of Russia’s foreign policy.
