Gunmen have attacked the Shamshad TV station in the Afghan capital of Kabul, supposedly leaving one individual dead and injuring about 20 others, local media reported Tuesday.
According to the TOLOnews broadcaster, a suicide attacker detonated his explosives near the entrance to the compound belonging to Shamshad TV, after which two or three armed men stormed the building.

The Afghan security forces are working to free the compound of militants, while Crisis Response Unit officers are searching the houses in the vicinity, TOLOnews reported, citing the Afghan Interior Ministry's spokesman Najib Danish.
"Some of my colleagues were killed and injured. I managed to escape," Hashmat Istankzai, a reporter for the Pashto-language channel, told in an interview to the BBC.
