BEIRUT (Sputnik) — Terrorists have shelled downtown Damascus from mortars killing one person and injuring another 13, Syrian news agency SANA reported, citing a source in the Damascus Police Command.
Over the recent months, the shelling of the Syrian capital by militants has intensified, with the latest taking place on November 8 and resulting in injuries of at least 14 civilians.

According to the information provided by sources close to Astana talks on the Syrian settlement, southern Damascus may become a new de-escalation zone in Syria in addition to those already in place in Eastern Ghouta near Damascus, as well as the northwestern Idlib, Latakia, Hama and Aleppo and the north of the central Homs province, southern Daraa and Quneitra regions.
